Off to Brisbane for Australian Stampin'Up! Convention 2013

Tomorrow is the big day! I'm off to Brisbane, Queensland for the 2013 Australian Stampin'Up! Convention. My team and I have been planning our trip up there since last years Convention in Canberra. And after all our planning tomorrow is the day!!!!!! There are 40 members of my Inksationals team making the journey. This year is a special event as Stampin'Up! is celebrating 25 years in business - their Silver Anniversary!

I have spent ages making team and general swaps. I started planning my team swaps at the start of the year and have been making them since March. I got everything finished last night, what a great feeling to have them all completed. Here are some photos of them en mass before I packed them into my half empty suitcase. ( A demonstrator goes with a case that is big and empty so as to fit in all the purchases that she will make in Memento Mall at Convention!!!!)

These are my team swap. I loved creating my swaps with Stampin'Up! Designer fabrics.

                                                     Below are my general swaps.

I'll try and find time to update my blog while I am in Brisbane. Tomorrow night is Managers Reception for all Demonstrators who are Manager or above. It is a special event to share time with Stampin'Up! CEO Shelli Gardner and is a highlight of Convention. I'll tell you all about tomorrow night!

Another Quick and Easy Card

When I am creating cards for my display boards for paper shows like the upcoming Paperific paper show, I am in need of quick and easy layouts as I have to get quite a few cards made. Plus at present I am supposed to be making swap items for our upcoming Stampin'Up! Convention in May so need to get things done in priority! Posters are completed, class for this month is ready so I can now start on some swaps for my team of demonstrators attending Convention!

This card uses one of my tried and trusted card layouts, one I always come back to when card making in a hurry. It is so adaptable to so many different stamp sets.

I came up with the colour combination by using my Colour Coach from Stampin'Up! ( very handy when card making in a hurry!). Colours are So Saffron, Pool Party and Not Quite Navy. The last colour is one of the retiring colours ( June 30 ) and it is interesting to note that in the last few cards I have made I've used at least one of the retiring colours. Not quite sure what to make of that....... Well new colours always mean new faves and new and exciting colour combos to try! Plus I have seen today the new upcoming In Colours for 2013 - 2015 and they are gorgeous!!!!! Anyway enough vacillating (love that word) and back to my card!

I really like how the new Cloudy Day embossing folder turned out. It looks fabulous used on either side - embossed or debossed. I've used it on Core'dinations Pool Party card stock for this card.

Stamps - Papillion Potpourri, A Little Greeting

Card - So Saffron, Pool Party Core'dinations, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla

Ink - So Saffron, Pool Party, Not Quite Navy

Extras- Cloudy Day embossing folder, Word Window punch, Not Quite Navy taffeta ribbon

Remember you can order any of these items in my online store - just click on the "Shop Now" tab at the top right of the page.

Well I'd better get a move on and do some swaps!

Clean and Simple CASE

This card is my CASE of this weeks Clean & Simple layout. I loved the card when I saw it in my emails and knew I had to do a current Stampin'Up! version.

How good is this for a quick and easy card? The paper doilies in the current seasonal catalogue make it so easy. I was thinking of trying a version using the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits - must do that!

Card - Summer Starfruit, Basic Black, Whisper White

Stamps - Papillion Potpourri, Bring on the Cake

Extras - Tea Lace paper doily, In Colour DSP paper stack, Elegant Butterfly punch, Dimensionals, Black Staz-On ink

I love making cards that are quick and easy!
