July Technique Class - Glossy Cardstock Backgrounds

When the new Stampin'Up! 2017-2018 Annual catalogue came into my hot little hands my whoops of joy for new products was when I saw that glossy card stock had made it back into the catalogue. I was disappointed when Stampin'Up! retired glossy card a few years back as there are so may cool techniques you can use it for. Now it is returned,  we are going to focus in this months classes on how to create pretty backgrounds for your cards and scrapbook pages.

My first sample was inspired by a card in an article on the return of glossy card in our quarterly Stampin'Up! demonstrator magazine. ( One of the great perks of being a demonstrator!) I was intrigued as to how the card had been created so had a play and here are my first samples for the class.

As well as this technique we will cover two other techniques using glossy card and Stampin'Up! products.

Interested? Here are the dates -

Thursday July 20 at 7.30pm
Friday July 21 at 10am
Saturday July 22 at 1.30pm

Class fee $20 and you will make three cards. All materials provided. Please bring a paper trimmer.

To book email me -
Classes are held in Mt Waverley.

Eastern Medallions Card from Catalogue Launch

Here is the last of my catalogue launch cards that my attendees made last weekend. This card was our make and take at our team night last month and was created by Fi Cobbin. I thought the card was so cute I had to share it at my catalogue launch.

I was not a big fan of the Eastern Palace Suite when it was released early by Stampin'Up! but as time has gone by and I have had more time to create with the dies, stamps and papers I have to admit I am really enjoying the suites potential. This card uses the new In Colour Berry Burst. Such a happy splash of colour!

This sweet little note card is 4x4 inches and could be used for any occasion. I'll be using mine as thank you cards for my customers. The Eastern Medallion dies can be mixed and matched to create a multitude of designs. The outer die for this card creates a partial cut out design which gives your card a unique look which is accentuated by turning up the outer petals.

To highlight the design a square of gold metallic foil is placed under the cut out design. Sooo pretty!!!

I really think Stampin'Up! have outdone themselves this year with their sentiment stamps. The fonts used on so many of the new stamps are so gorgeous. Take this cute "hello" stamp from the Eastern Beauty set, it is so sweet! The addition of the dot stamp each end of the sentiment adds a nice touch to the whole design.

The Eastern Palace Suite also has co-ordinating tassels, inks and vinyl stickers. You can see them all on page 19 of the 2017- 2018 Stampin'Up! catalogue. To save you money you can order the stamp set and dies as a bundle and save 10% off teh price if each are purchased individually.

Thanks for stopping on my page, hope to see you again soon,

Happy Birthday Thinlit Card from Catalogue Launch

Look a card with no stamping! Here is a very quick card that will suit as a male birthday card any time you require one. I love the new Happy Birthday thinlit die for making quick card. This card was one of the projects at my recent catalogue launch.

The background paper is from the fabulous Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. A terrific 6x6 stack of 48 sheets with 12 double sided designs. I had to add a touch of bling so the new mini sequin trim in gold was used by sliding the sequins off the thread and adhering them with the fine tip glue pen.

Now I also had this card to show the ladies attending to highlight how this thinlit can be used to create a shadow to the diecut words.

The top layer words are done using Sahara Sand card and the under set are cut out of Early Espresso card stock. For bling on this card I added Gold Metallic Shapes.

I hope I have given you some inspiration for getting your hands on this great new die from Stampin'Up!. You can head over to my online store and view this die and many others from the new 2017 Annual Catalogue.

My Stampin'Up! Catalogue Launch Cards

Yesterday I held my 2017 Stampin'Up! Annual Catalogue Launch. We had a lovely fun afternoon and if you follow me on Facebook you would have seen the before photos and the cute thank you gifts I had for my attendees.

Over the next few posts I'll share the projects we created. You saw the Daisy Delight card in my most recent post. Today here are my 2017 In Colour  cards. I first made these cards for my team night and the team loved them so they became my launch project cards as well.

The beauty of these cards was that not only did I share the new In Colours card and inks ( I love Fresh Fig!) but I also was sharing the pretty Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack which has all the 2017 In Colours included in all four patterns.

The other bonus is a card layout that uses strips of patterned papers. Think of all the extra papers you have on hand and how they could be used in this layout.

The punch is Stampin'Up!'s new Pretty Label punch which matches the Label Me Pretty stamp set. Did you know that can get these two items as a bundle and save 10% on the price.

All up some fun, quick and easy cards to create. Love it!

If you would like to purchase any of these items and you are in Australia please click on the images below to be taken to my online Stampin'Up! store.

I'll be back again soon with more cards from my Launch Day.

Catalogue Launch - Daisy Delight Card

Sorry it's been a bit too long between posts. Settling back into work after long service leave, some study and going away for a long weekend have not helped my creative time.

I'm sharing with you a card that is part of my upcoming 2017 Stampin'Up! Annual Catalogue Launch. If you would like to come along it is on Saturday June 24 at 2pm at my home in Mt Waverley. I have some places left so if you would like to attend please email me to book your place.

I love the new Daisy Delight stamp set and matching punch. So many love it that Stampin'Up! have sold over a years supply in six weeks!!! Currently the company is awaiting new stock to arrive and it will be available for ordering again in July.

Along with this card to be made at my launch you will make three others using new catalogue products, see samples made using new products, get your new catalogue if you haven't got your hands on one yet and receive a gift from me as a thankyou for attending. Cover charge is $5 but will be refunded if you make an order on the day. If you are one of my regular customers there is no fee, this is my thankyou to you for being one of customers.

Thanks to Cindy Elam for your card idea. It is a lovely card to CASE. I tweaked the colours for mine.

Please email me at to book your place.

Hope to be back here again soon!

Farewell Gorgeous Grunge & Petite Petals

It's that time of the year when the current Annual Catalogue makes way for the next Annual Catalogue and that means saying goodbye to some favourite stamp sets as they retire from sale.

Gorgeous Grunge has been my go to stamp set for a few years now. Always there for adding a bit of  background texture or when in a hurry to make a quick and easy card. The same with Petite Petals and it's matching punch. What am I going to stamp and punch out now from all those teeny scraps of Whisper White card that I hoarde?

Here is a final farewell card using retiring products from the 2016-2017 Annual catalogue.

How is this for a clean and simple card? I've used the retiring inks the In Colours of Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush. The rhinestones are retiring too to return in a new configuration in the new Annual Catalogue.

The sentiment is also from a retiring stamp set - Suite Sayings. I stamped my images onto Shimmery White cardstock which gives a nice bit of sparkle to a card.

You have one more day to get your order in for any of the retiring products. May 31 is the deadline!

On a positive note that means we then have the excitement of a brand new catalogue to drool over and find some new favourite stamp sets.

Make sure you get your last chance order in on time!

Cheers until my next post,
